State Rep. Thomson Named to Government Oversight Committee

When the Iowa Legislature convenes in Des Moines on January 13th, House District 58 State Representative Charley Thomson of Charles City will be a member of the Government Oversight Committee.
Thomson says allocations of tax dollars is their highest priority.
Areas of concern also include approximately $2 million spent by the State’s Agriculture Department to feed and then, ultimately, euthanize some 1.3 million chickens suppliers had committed to Pure Prairie Poultry before the Charles City chicken processing plant shut down in early October.
State officials have vowed to recoup the $2 million from PPP.
Thomson adds that employees are the hardest and most unfairly hit by Pure Prairie’s closure.
