Since last August, the Charles City Mobile Food Pantry has been serving between 300 and 330 households each month with its monthly drive-thru distribution at the Floyd County Fairgrounds.
Organizer Jen Burton says it takes a lot of volunteers to help unload the food in a timely fashion when it’s delivered by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
Burton adds that another 50 or so households are also served by volunteers who deliver food. She looks to say THANKS as many volunteers as possible with an appreciation reception from 3 to 5 pm this Sunday (01.12) in the Zastrow Room of the Charles City Public Library.
Light refreshments will be served, with a short presentation at 4 pm by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
