City Hall offices, as well as the police department in Charles City, are now in temporary homes while the current City Hall and PD facilities undergo about $5 million in renovations.
The project could take up to a year-and-a-half to complete, but City Administrator Steve Diers says its looking to be a little less than that
While that work continues, Diers says utility payments can still be deposited in the regular drop box location outside City Hall.
Payments can also still be mailed in, but Diers notes the address for the permanent City Hall building has been updated and is no longer 105 Mall Drive.
The Charles City Police Department’s temporary location is 623 Beck Street, which also houses the Code Enforcement and Parks and Recreation departments.
