Floyd County ISU Extension to Host “Cooking Wild with Venison” for Cabin Fever Weekend

Floyd County ISU Extension and Outreach is getting in on Cabin Fever Weekend in Charles City with “Cooking Wild with Venison.”
Program Director Lesley Milius says participants will learn to prepare at least two venison-based dishes this Saturday (02.01) from noon to 1 pm at the extension office in downtown Charles City.
Cost is $5 with pre-registration recommended at 641-228-1453.
Milius says she was inspired to put the event together after her son shot his first buck.
She also notes that free tax preparation will soon be available through VITA.
Floyd County ISU Extension and Outreach also reminds all 4-H Market Beef exhibitors that you must ID your market beef at 4-Honline by midnight this Saturday to show at this year’s Floyd County Fair, with no exceptions for late entries. Breeding beef and bucket/bottle calves are due by May 15.
And, Floyd County high school seniors in 4-H planning to continue their education after graduation can apply for Floyd County 4-H Scholarships by March 28th.
