New Hampton Lions Club Youth Wrestling Tournament Saturday (02.08)

It’s “Take 2” for the 46th New Hampton Lions Club Youth Wrestling Tournament this Saturday (02.08).

One of the Lions Club’s largest fundraisers was originally scheduled for December 14th, but was put on hold due to inclement weather.

That’s the Lions Club’s Dennis Pagel, who says registrations are still being accepted for wrestlers Pre-K through 6th grade.

Pagel says participation has been on the upswing with the increased popularity of girls wrestling. He notes that girls will only wrestle girls at Saturday’s tournament, with proceeds going back into the community.

Registration for the tournament is $20 and can be done online at www.teamsideline.com/newhamptonia, though Pagel says walk-ins are also welcome Saturday morning at the Competition Gym at New Hampton High School.

Pagel says donations of used eyeglasses are also welcome from anyone who attends.
