Floyd County Supervisors Consider Lower Pay Raise

For the past three fiscal years, each Floyd County Board of Supervisors have not given themselves a pay raise.
That’s expected to change for the 2025-26 fiscal year, but by how much is in question.
The County Compensation Board has proposed a 4.66% increase for Supervisors pay, but during their meeting Monday (02.10), Supervisors discussed whether to move forward with that recommendation at that level of increase.
First-term Supervisor Boyd Campbell has only been the job about three months, long enough for him to realize a wage bump may be warranted.
The Compensation Board also recommended 4.66% raises for Treasurer Jessie Holm, Recorder Amy Assink, and Auditor Morrigan Miller, with a 9.3% raise for County Attorney Todd Prichard and Sheriff Jeff Crooks.
Supervisors Dennis Keifer, Gloria Carr and Campbell agreed to take a look at the financial impact of lowering those raises by 1% across the board.
Some County department heads are also asking for raises for staff members, but Miller, acknowledging she’s only been auditor for just over a month, encouraged Supervisors to go beyond the numbers when considering whether or not to approve pay raises.
No action was taken on any wage hikes, with Supervisors agreeing that they don’t want to raise taxes to help pay for them.
They also vowed to continue looking for more inefficiencies that could be eliminated for additional cost savings to the County as they work towards the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget.
