Snowmobilers Take Advantage of Overdue Snowfall 

Up until the middle of last week, the overall lack of snow across north and northeast Iowa has prevented kids from sledding. That has applied to “big kids” sledding, too.

Chickasaw County Ryan Shawver reminds snowmobilers to be respectful when hitting area trails.

Shawver adds that it’s also a good idea to review trail maps before you head out on the snow.

The Iowa DNR reminds snowmobilers to have their proper documentation with them when riding. The DNR also cautions snowmobile and ATV/UTV operators headed out on frozen waterways that ice should be at least five inches thick to support the weight of your vehicle.
