National Weather Service to Host Storm Spotter Training Tuesday (03.04) in CC

The National Weather Service of La Crosse is slated to host a Storm Spotter Training session Tuesday (03.04) night in Charles City.

That’s NWS Warning Coordination Meteorologist Mike Kurz, who says spotters play an important role of “filling in” storm details that can’t be detected by radar and other weather technology.

Kurz says once spotters are up and running, they can make their own choices where to position themselves to help report storm conditions.

Free NWS Storm Spotter Training starts at 6 pm Tuesday (03.04) at the Zoetis Auditorium in Charles City. Kurz says attending the session does not commit you to becoming a storm spotter and is open to anyone interested in weather, regardless of age.

Other Storm Spotter Training sessions are also scheduled in Luana on March 13th, Waterville on April 1st, and Elma on April 2nd.
