Floyd County Supervisors Set Public Hearing on FY25-26 Budget

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors have set a date for the public hearing on the County’s proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
In the meantime, Supervisors are hoping for County department heads to continue looking at ways to trim costs in an effort to keep property close to the levels in the current ‘24-25 fiscal year.
During their regular meeting Monday (03.31), Supervisor Boyd Campbell again pushed for a joint approach to budget cuts rather than having to mandate reductions.
Still on the table is the possibility of the County not filling positions being vacated by staff departures, including a pending deputy retirement in the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, though Board Chair Dennis Keifer acknowledged they can expect more push back on that idea.
The public hearing for County tax payers to weigh on the FY25-26 budget is now set for April 29th at 4:30 pm in the boardroom of the Floyd County Courthouse.
