Senator Grassley Considers Changes in Approach to Town Halls

More than 100 people attended a town hall meeting held by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley on March 21st in north Iowa.
The meeting at the Franklin County Courthouse in Hampton became heated at times with several audience members expressing concerns and frustrations over actions taken by the Trump administration.
Grassley says fielding the feedback comes with the job.
Grassley expressed disappointment more conservatives didn’t step forward.
He’s also weighing a different approach to future town halls.
The National Republican Congressional Committee last month advised Republicans against holding public town halls due to anger from attendees over Trump’s administration policies. The U.S. House Speaker said he believed speakers showing up to challenge Republicans were being paid to do so.
