PAWS Pet of the Week – Mason: A Journey of Healing

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

Meet Mason (aka Asher), a 3-year-old Great Dane and Pit Bull Terrier mix who’s stealing hearts at PAWS Humane Society in Charles City, IA. This smart, athletic, and loyal dog was rescued from an abusive situation, thanks to vigilant witnesses and the local police. Now, in the care of his foster, Victoria, since December 2024, Mason has transformed from a cautious, underweight pup to a cuddly, healthy 75-pound companion.
Mason’s journey hasn’t been easy. He arrived at PAWS with anxiety from his past, flinching at raised hands. But with Victoria’s love and training, he’s blossomed into a happy, energetic dog who loves to cuddle and show off his intelligence. An escape artist with a knack for jumping fences, Mason needs a secure indoor home with plenty of exercise and an experienced owner. He’s selective with other dogs, not a fan of cats, and thrives best with a single person or couple who can give him time and attention.
Interested in meeting Mason? Fill out an adoption application at PAWS Humane Society (open Saturday 11-2, Sunday 1-3) to ensure a perfect match. Help Mason find his forever home where he can continue to thrive!
