PAWS Pet of the Week – Merlin; Tattoo Fundraiser on May 11 & Dog Jog Glow Edition on June 20

COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

PAWS Humane Society Assistant Manager Jacie Peichel showcased Merlin, a 2-year-old black Domestic Short Hair mix, during the PAWS Pet of the Week. Merlin, a large, vocal, and independent cat, craves pets but dislikes being held, making him a potential fit for a farm or indoor/outdoor home with a warm, safe space and separate feeding. Fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped, he’s adoptable with a donation. Jacie highlighted Merlin’s playful strut and affectionate paw-grabbing antics, noting his need for a tailored environment. She also urged volunteering for weekend shelter duties or fostering, emphasizing state rules requiring vaccinated, spayed/neutered pets in foster homes. Upcoming events include the May 11 Mother’s Day tattoo fundraiser at Emerald Inc., Mason City, with $50 tattoos (75% donated to PAWS), and the June 20 Glow Edition Dog Jog at Tellurian Brewing.
