“Day of Service” May 15th in Charles City
Thursday, May 15th, will mark the 57th anniversary of the tornado that devastated Charles City on May 15, 1968.
To commemorate the occasion, Mayor Dean Andrews says Main Street Charles City is inviting citizens to join in a community-wide “Day of Service.”
There will be a coordinated volunteer downtown clean up that day from 4:30 to 6 pm, with participants asked to bring your broom or leaf blower and meet at Central Park. Andrews says there’s a small “thank you” available to anyone who lends a helping hand.
All ages are encouraged to participate in an activity of your choosing to benefit others or Charles City overall, no matter how big or small.
For more information, contact Main Street Charles City or the Charles City Chamber of Commerce.
