Charles City Street Dept. Offers Bruch Pickup Starting Monday (05.12)

Starting Monday (05.12), the Charles City Street Department will make one pass through town to pick up brush. This is for brush only, not entire trees. 

Residents are asked to place all brush in the city right-of-way with the cut side facing the street.

Street Superintendent Tony Stonecypher says crews will break into two teams, generally working from the east and west toward the middle of town.  Most brush should get out this weekend to allow crews to focus on getting pickup done as early in the week as possible.

Citizens are also reminded that the Shaw Avenue Compost Site is open year-round for residents to dispose of branches and yard waste.

The next date for brush pick-up in Charles City will be the week of June 9th.
