To honor veterans during the Memorial Day Weekend, Charles City VFW Post #3914 will place American flags on the graves of veterans this Friday (05.23).
Post Commander Denny Hull says they could use several volunteers to help with the operation.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the VFW, along North Grand Avenue, across from Washington Elementary School, Friday morning at 10 am. If you can’t help with flag placement, volunteers are also needed for flag retrieval after the weekend.
The Charles City VFW will also host its annual Memorial Day remembrance ceremony Monday (05.26) morning at 11 am. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs. A free will donation lunch will follow the program.
