The Lions Field Pool in Charles City will open on Memorial Day (05.26) after undergoing a facelift since it closed for the season last August..
That’s City Administrator Steve Diers, who says improvements will allow the pool to operate more efficiently.
Diers says the upgrades will extend the life of the pool by another 20-25 years.

The New Hampton Swimming Pool will also open for the season on Memorial Day. Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman says they have a sufficient number of lifeguards on staff, but there’s always room for more.
There are also unpaid opportunities available for younger, potential lifeguards.
