Charles City Police Host Annual Bike Rodeo Saturday (05.31)
The Charles City Police Department invites kids to kick off summer with the annual Dean and Kim Marzen Memorial bike rodeo this weekend.
Community Officer Duane Ollendick says kids can get their bike safety-checked, ride through the obstacle course, get a free helmet, and enter a drawing for free bikes from 8 to 9:30 am Saturday (05.31) in the parking lot east of HotShots by the Cedar River.
Already got a bike, but it needs a “check up?”
Kids can also give their bikes a “makeover.”
Ollendick says that kids can also register their bikes with the CCPD to help get bikes returned quicker if lost or stolen.
Ollendick adds that CCPD has a collection of unclaimed bikes available if you’re someone in need of a bike.
