North Iowa Man Pleads Guilty to Stealing From Booster Club

A north Iowa man accused of stealing over $10,000 from a booster club has agreed to plead guilty in the case.
On March 27th, a Nashua-Plainfield Athletic Booster Club Facebook post said they were “alerted by Lincoln Savings Bank of suspicious activity on our account. The account was frozen and law enforcement was immediately contacted.”
Chickasaw County Sheriff Ryan Shawver says they began an investigation on March 21st and, on May 13th, 38-year-old Jordan White of Nashua was charged with first-degree theft, a Class C felony.
According to the criminal complaint, between January 2nd and March 5th, White is accused of withdrawing cash from the booster club checking account for personal expenses that were not authorized booster club purchases. He also allegedly made unauthorized transactions with a debit card that were personal expenses, all totaling in excess of $10,000.
On Monday (06.02) White entered a guilty plea in Chickasaw County District Court to a reduced charge of third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, all suspended, and placed on two years probation. White was also assessed almost $1,000 in fines and court costs.
