Four Suspects Under 20-Years-Old Arrested for Robbing North Iowa Gun Store

Four suspects, all under 20-years-old, are facing felony weapons charges after they were arrested for allegedly robbing a north Iowa gun store.

Mason City Police Chief Jeff Brinkley says MCPD officers responded to a burglar alarm at Hart Brothers Weaponry in Mason City, shortly before 1:30 am Friday (06.06) morning. At the scene,  officers found the front door of the store open and a smashed display case inside with several weapons missing.

Investigators obtained search warrants for four Mason City homes and two vehicles, leading to the recovery of seven handguns, with six identified as stolen from Hart Brothers.

That resulted in the arrests of four suspects, including 18-year-old LaDanian Pannhoff, 19-year-old Parker Thompson, and 19-year-old Dayce Nixon, all of Mason City, plus a 17-year-old male, all charged with trafficking stolen weapons, all Class D felonies. Thompson is also charged with conspiracy to commit nonforcible felony, a Class C felony, with Pannhoff also facing one count fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor, 

The 17-year-old was also charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony,  and was placed in juvenile detention. 

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol, the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE), the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force assisted with this investigation.
