New Hampton Police Department Staff Coming Into Focus

Staffing of the New Hampton Police Department (NHPD) continues to come into focus.

Chief Conrad Rosendahl says officer Jace Hall is currently in police academy training and will be a fully certified peace officer by August, the same month officer Darby Stone begins training with their new K9, Ozcar.

Rosendahl recently noted that NHPD was about $60 short of raising their initial startup cost goal of just over $35,000, with all money raised through grants and donations, which are still welcome for future items including dog food and training expenses.

On top of the personnel additions, Rosendahl says all NHPD squad cars are getting new dashboard cameras.

Rosendahl, a proponent of “community policing,” also encourages the public to help keep New Hampton safe. Thus, if you see something, say something. You never know what it might lead to.

Rosendahl says he’s proud of the developments in the police department since he took over, which will be a year ago July 1st.
