Saturday (06.14) is Flag Day, commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.
Celebration of Flag Day didn’t take off until the Elks Club picked up the mantle over a hundred years ago, as explained at a recent Charles City City Council meeting by Charles City Elks Lodge member Todd Smith.
The Charles City Elks Lodge will host a Flag Day ceremony at 1 pm Saturday at the lodge.
Join us as we
CELEBRATE
our nation’s flag!
As Elks, we were instrumental in seeing that our nation celebrates
Flag Day each June 14.
True to our heritage, we invite members and the public to our annual
FLAG DAY CEREMONY
to be held at the Lodge on
Saturday, June 14 at 1:00 PM
We hope to see you at the Lodge!
