The Charles City VFW clothing drive is down to its final days.
That’s coordinator Patrick Lumley, who says they’re no longer taking donations, but there’s lots of clothes to get to those who need them.
The last days for pickup are Tuesday (06.24) from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm and Wednesday (06.25) and Thursday (06.26) from 3:30 pm to 9 pm.
Lumley says between 125 and 150 families have taken advantage of the free clothing since the drive began in May, but clothing isn’t limited to just families.
Lumley says the clothing drive has been beneficial on a variety of fronts.
Those coming to pick up free clothing on Tuesday are asked to come in on the VFW’’s eastside door off the lower level parking lot, towards Washington Elementary School. Wednesday and Thursday pickups are during regular business hours at the VFW, which is open to the public.
