Huisentruit Disappearance Hits 30-Year Mark

It was 30 years ago Friday (06.27) that KIMT anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappeared and still no answers as to what happened to her.
Authorities believe someone grabbed Huisentruit shortly after 4 AM on June 27, 1995, as she was going from her apartment in Mason City at the Key Apartments to the parking lot. Neighbors said they heard a scream about that time and a passerby reported he saw a white van in the parking lot.
Police found Huisetruit’s high heels, a hair dryer, hair spray and earrings in the parking lot. A bent car key was found on the ground near her Mazda Miata, with police believing she was unlocking her car door when she was attacked from behind.
Police have fielded thousands of tips in the three decades since Huisentruit’s disappearance. Despite an exhaustive investigation, no evidence, tips or leads have led to her abductor.
An event to mark the 30th anniversary will be held at 11 AM this morning outside of KIMT’s building in downtown Mason City.
Meanwhile, Find Jodi, Inc. has put up a new billboard with a picture of Huisentruit with the caption: 30 Years. It’s Time. FindJodi.com.
They’re offering a $50,000 reward for information in the case.
