Join us for an insightful Community Conversations interview, brought to you by Floyd County Medical Center, featuring Jen Burton, site coordinator for the Charles City Mobile Food Pantry. In this discussion, Jen shares crucial updates for the upcoming food distribution on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds. With new state income eligibility forms rolling out, an increased capacity for 385 households, and the Healthy Kids Iowa Initiative providing extra food for children ages 4–18, this month’s pantry is set to make a big impact. Volunteers are also needed to help unpack and distribute food. Listen to the full audio interview below to get all the details on times, eligibility, and how to get involved, and join the effort to support our community!

Support food security in Charles City! Visit the Charles City Mobile Food Pantry at the Floyd County Fairgrounds on the first Wednesday of each month. Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
