Charles City 4th of July Parade Returns to Regular Route Friday (07.04)

The Fourth of July celebration in Charles City kicks into high gear Friday (07.04) with the parade thru downtown starting at 10:30 am.

That’s Charles City Chamber of Commerce Director Mark Wicks, who reminds parade participants the lineup begins at 8 am Friday, with any unit that wants to be judged for prizes to be in position by 9:30 am.

Friday’s festivities will be capped off with live music and fireworks.

Charles City Police will close off the bridge during the fireworks show.

Activity continues Saturday (07.05), including more live music at Central Park, though the headliner will change Saturday night.

Wicks says other events include the watermelon and hot dog eating contests, bags and cornhole tournaments, beer garden and performances by the Champions Forever Stunt Team.
