This week’s PAWS Pet of the Week is Indie, a shy but sweet 4-month-old kitten looking for a loving forever home. Jacie Peichel from PAWS Humane Society also shares updates on a new litter of kittens in foster care, adoptable dogs and puppies, and details on upcoming events like the annual Dog Swim and fall UTV ride. Plus, find out what items PAWS is most in need of right now—from canned kitten food to paper towels—and how you can help through fostering or volunteering.

PAWS Humane Society is always looking for loving adopters, volunteers, and supporters. Learn more at pawscharlescity.com, or find their latest updates and wish lists on Facebook.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
