The National Weather Service warns of a potentially dangerous severe weather event tonight across north central and northeast Iowa, with the highest local risk level at 4 out of 5 for much of the KCHA/Bull listening area.
Timing: Storms are expected to develop over eastern South Dakota this afternoon and evening, then race east into southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa by late evening, with the greatest local threat from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Primary Threat:
-
Damaging winds are the main concern, with widespread gusts potentially exceeding 70 mph.
Secondary Threats:

Heavy rain that could cause localized flooding
