Nester Hosiery Buys Fox River Mills in Osage, Will Relocate Production to North Carolina

A North Carolina company has bought a north Iowa sock manufacturer.
Nester Hosiery, LLC, a prominent U.S. sock manufacturer, announced it has acquired most of the assets of Fox River Mills in Osage. A statement by Nester indicates the acquisition will lead to the relocation of production operations to their headquarters in North Carolina.
To support former Fox River employees and maintain customer relationships, Nester plans to establish a new product development and customer service center in Osage. The company also aims to retain most of Fox River’s sales, marketing, and design staff.
Kelly Nester, CEO of Nester Hosiery, says, “Fox River Mills has long been a highly respected brand in American sock manufacturing, with deep technical expertise and a robust customer base. By acquiring its assets and welcoming many of its team members, we are expanding our domestic production capabilities and preserving important industry knowledge and relationships that align with our commitment to U.S. manufacturing.”
Nester adds, “This is an exciting new chapter for Nester Hosiery and a meaningful step forward for the Fox River legacy. We are grateful to the Fox River team and the Osage community for their collaboration.”
Nester Hosiery will integrate the Fox River, Pistil, and Anywear Essentials brands into its offerings, including its Farm to Feet® brand. Nester says this acquisition also allows them to continue Fox River’s legacy of producing high-quality socks for U.S. military service members.
Fox River Mills notified Iowa Workforce Development on July 29th that it will be laying off 105 workers on October 10th.
