No Varsity Football in 2025 for Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock, Scholarship Program Introduced

For the second time in four years, Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock (RRMR) school officials have announced that due to low participation numbers, they will not be fielding a varsity 8-player football team this year.
The Warriors have struggled to maintain a varsity football squad since their state championship game appearance in 2018, not fielding a team in 2022 and having to forfeit one game last season due to not having enough players.
Another 8-player team, Dunkerton, has also announced they will not be fielding a varsity football team this season. That has allowed teams in Districts 2 and 3 an opportunity to reschedule games.
Northwood-Kensett announced Wednesday (08.20) that instead of playing Dunkerton in their home opener on Friday, August 29th, District 3 team Cedar Ridge Christian will be their opponent. The Vikings were scheduled to play at Rockford on October 3rd, but now they will travel to Tripoli.
In response to lower numbers participating in sports, the Warrior Athletic Department has created the “Warrior Athletic Honor Roll Scholarship.” This award encourages student-athletes to become a four-sport athlete here at Rockford and then be rewarded with a scholarship.
Stipulations include athletes needing to play a sport during every season, fall, winter, spring, summer, with three of the four sports at Rockford.
Complete rules, regulations and requirements are posted on the RRMR School District Facebook page.
