Georgia Man Found Guilty of Murdering 15-Year-Old Girl Last Seen Eight Years Ago

A Georgia man has been found guilty of murdering a teenage girl last seen in northeast Iowa over eight years ago.
In August 2024, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested 66-year-old James Bachmurski in connection with the death of Jade Colvin. Investigators allege she was brought to Bachmurski’s home near Decorah in March 2017, with the last known text messages sent by the 15-year-old and received by anyone on March 30, 2017. She has not been spoken with or seen by any family or friends since.
Bachmurksi pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, a Class B felony, and his trial began August 25th in Winneshiek County District Court.
The prosecution’s exhibit list against Bachmurski included photos that allegedly showed Colvin shooting a gun on March 26, 2017; being at Pizza Ranch on March 27, 2017; and being at a brush fire on March 28, 2017, all in the Decorah area.
On Wednesday (09.03), a jury returned a guilty verdict against Bachmurski, who is now scheduled to be sentenced on October 21st.
