A north Iowa man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle.
The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the fatal wreck occurred shortly before 5 pm Tuesday (09.02) at the 195 mile marker on Highway 218 in Bremer County. 44-year-old Robert Detmering III of Osage was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on 218 when he lost control of the bike, which then left the roadway and came to rest in the median.
ISP says debris from the motorcycle struck a Jeep traveling in the inside northbound lane of the highway, causing minimal damage.
Detmering was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the crash site.
