...SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING...

.Very strong winds will develop Tuesday evening with the
strong wind gusts persisting into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts over
50 mph are expected. Much of the area has 6 inches or more of snow
on the ground. While there may be an initial crust on the top layer
of the snow, it will erode quickly leading to significant blowing and
drifting of snow. Near white-out and blizzard conditions may occur.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers
are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are
possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly
impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.

Instructions: Prepare for possible blizzard conditions. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

Charles City Public Library Director Annette Dean joined KCHA’s Community Conversations to share all the exciting programs happening this fall. Kids can dive into Get Messy art sessions, LEGO-inspired “Books and Bricks,” and family craft nights. Adults have a full lineup too, with multiple book clubs, tech help, diamond art, and cookbook gatherings. September also brings National Library Card Sign-Up Month, making it the perfect time to get or replace your card at no cost.
