One person is dead and another injured after a late-night, weekend UTV crash in north central Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred just after 3 am Saturday (09.06) along the Boone River near Highway 3 in Wright County. A John Deere Gator, operated by 21-year-old Levi Rasmussen of Goldfield, was traveling near the river when it appears he misjudged the distance, slid off the river bank, and dropped a significant distance into the water.
The ISP crash report says Rasmussen and a passenger, 20-year-old McKenna Woodbeck of Huxley, were thrown from the Gator. Woodbeck died after she got trapped underneath the UTV.
Rasmussen was taken by Eagle Grove Ambulance to Iowa Specialty Hospital for treatment.
