Waverly Police Arrest Dysart Man Following Assault Report

A Dysart man was arrested Tuesday after Waverly Police responded to an assault call at a local residence.
According to Waverly Police, officers were called to the residence on September 9, 2025, where the offender had fled the scene on a motorcycle. Officers later located the suspect, 52-year-old David Michael Risse of Dysart, at a nearby convenience store.
Risse was arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, along with Possession of Marijuana, an enhanced aggravated misdemeanor. He was transported to the Bremer County Jail and later released after posting a $4,300 bond.
Police say the victim of the assault was transported by ambulance to Waverly Health Center for treatment of injuries.
Authorities remind the public that all parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
