Charles City School District Responds to Employee Social Media Post
The Charles City Community School District is addressing concerns after a social media post made by one of its employees drew significant reaction from the community.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Burnight released a statement acknowledging the seriousness of the situation and said the district is reviewing the matter under its established policies and procedures.
The employee has since removed the post. Because it is considered a personnel matter, district officials say they cannot discuss specific details, but Dr. Burnight stressed that “all necessary actions” are being taken.
He also reaffirmed the district’s commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students and staff, and asked for patience as the process moves forward.
KCHA News will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available. The district’s full statement is posted below.
