School Board, City Council Nomination Papers Due Thursday (09.18)

This November’s election isn’t limited to just school bond referendums, such as the $30 million and $16 million measures in the Charles City and Sumner-Fredericksburg school districts respectively. 

School board and city council candidates will also be on the ballot. Who will be on the ballots remains to be seen. But that will come into focus after Thursday’s (09.18) 5 pm deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers.

Positions up for election on the Charles City School Board include those currently held by David Schrodt, Josh Mack and Kathryn Fox. For the New Hampton School Board, spots up for election include those occupied by Timothy Denner, Adam Schwickerath, and Ryan Shawver, who was appointed to the Board in February following the resignation of Bob Ayers.

City Council positions up for election this year in Charles City include those held by Patrick Lumley, DeLaine Freeseman, and Krista Noah, who was appointed to the Council in August following the resignation of Keith Starr.

New Hampton council seats up for election on November 4th include Kalista Porath, Mindy Humpal, and Kerstin Schwickerath, who was appointed to the council in February following the resignation of former At-Large Councilwoman Katie Fisher.
