...SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING...

.Very strong winds will develop Tuesday evening with the
strong wind gusts persisting into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts over
50 mph are expected. Much of the area has 6 inches or more of snow
on the ground. While there may be an initial crust on the top layer
of the snow, it will erode quickly leading to significant blowing and
drifting of snow. Near white-out and blizzard conditions may occur.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers
are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are
possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly
impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.

FCMC Hosts Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Meet & Greet Wednesday (09.24)

The community is invited to a Meet and Greet hosted by Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) to learn more about its new full-time orthopedics and sports medicine program.

FCMC Director of Marketing and Community Engagement Makenzie McNeill says the event, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm Wednesday (09.24) at Tellurian Brewing in Charles City, will be a great way to meet Dr. Jeffrey Clark and his nurse practitioner, Brenda Cooper.

Cooper has worked with Dr. Clark for more than two decades.

FCMC encourages local coaches, athletic directors, and athletic trainers to stop out Wednesday to learn more about the comprehensive sports medicine services Dr. Clark’s team can provide.
