...SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING...

.Very strong winds will develop Tuesday evening with the
strong wind gusts persisting into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts over
50 mph are expected. Much of the area has 6 inches or more of snow
on the ground. While there may be an initial crust on the top layer
of the snow, it will erode quickly leading to significant blowing and
drifting of snow. Near white-out and blizzard conditions may occur.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers
are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are
possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly
impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.

Winner of $250,000 Iowa Lottery Scratcher Sold in North Iowa Identified

Iowa Lottery officials have identified the winner of a scratch ticket worth a quarter-of-a-million dollars that was sold last week in north Iowa.

The Lottery says Elisa Muhs of Osage is the winner of a Top Dollar scratcher, good for a prize of $250,000, after purchasing her ticket last Wednesday (09.24) at the Casey’s General Store in Osage.

Muhs is the state’s first top prize winner of $250,000 in the Top Dollar InstaPlay game.

Other recent regional winners include Mark Iverson of Waverly, who won $25,000 in the Iowa Lottery’s “Mega Bucks” scratch game after he purchased his ticket at Casey’s in Waverly. 

Brandon Flugum of Manly won $50,000 in the “Joker’s Wild” scratch game after purchasing his winning ticket at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh in Mason City. 

Taylor Borreson of Dorchester won $100,000 in the “Plu$ Your Bucks” scratch game, purchasing his winning ticket at Kwik Star in Waukon.
