Satellite Voting Available to Cast Ballots on Charles City High School Bond Referendum

A $30 million bond referendum to pay for renovations, upgrades and improvements to Charles City High School will know its fate three weeks from Tuesday (10.14).
During Monday (10.13) night’s School Board meeting, Superintendent Brian Burnight says the school district has worked with Floyd County Auditor Morrigan Montagne to set up satellite voting.
Absentee voting will be available during parent-teacher conferences both of those two days.
Burnight adds that the voting will be coordinated by official poll workers.
School Board President Bruce Koebrick also noted that the satellite voting is for all elections and measures on the ballot for the November 4th election, not just voting on the bond referendum.
The School Board also heard from students on the bond referendum Monday night, including Paige Pickar, who noted how hot classrooms can get with no air conditioning.
The bond measure will require a 60% supermajority YES vote to pass.
