“No Kings” Rally Saturday (10.18) in New Hampton Peaceful

About 75 people attended a “No Kings” peaceful rally in front of the Chickasaw County Courthouse in New Hampton Saturday (10.18).

India May, who has launched a campaign to face Republican Charley Thomson of Charles City in the next election for House District 58, led the protest against policies of the Trump administration, which tried to label the rallies as the “I Hate America” protest.

The No Kings rally in New Hampton was one of over 2,500 such events across the country on Saturday.

Mitchell County Democrats say more than 80 people attended the rally in Osage, while Bremer County Democrats say some 500 people attended the No Kings Rally in Waverly, with about 1,000 people at a rally in Decorah.

About 100 people attended a No Kings rally in Charles City in June.
