FCMC $40 Million Expansion On Track, Over Two-Thirds Complete, Gala Ticket Sales Brisk

A $40 million dollar expansion project at Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) continues on track.

That’s FCMC director of marketing and community engagement, Mackenzie McNeill, who says, in addition to the largest expansion of the Charles City hospital since it was built in 1965, they’re also looking forward to a new Wellness Space, thanks to the donations of Brady and Emily Garden, on behalf of their daughter, Lilly.

FCMC also recently announced the theme for their next fundraising gala, set for February 20, 2026. McNeill told KCHA/KCZE Tuesday (10.21) that ticket sales and sponsorships for Casino Royale have been brisk.

Back in March, FCMC celebrated the hospital’s 60th anniversary in Charles City with its first-ever fundraising gala, with the black tie affair raising over $40,000 for future capital projects at FCMC.

FCMC Facebook Construction update posted Oct. 22:

The hallway between the cafeteria and surgery is now closed until further notice due to active work on our new clinic
This closure includes:
One of the doors to the cafeteria (next to the stairs)
One side of the elevators
The stairwell
The elevators will still be accessible from the other side (facing audiology) as well as the adjacent cafeteria door.
Thank you for your patience as we continue building the future of our hospital
