Northeast Iowa Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Allegedly Hitting Victim with Vehicle

A northeast Iowa man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly hit someone with his vehicle.
The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) says it received a 911 call just after noon on Friday (10.24) about an auto accident in the 500 block of Oak Street in Rowley. Deputies say 70-year-old Raymond Gienau of Rowley drove his Ford Escape off the road and intentionally struck an individual before crashing into a garage.
BSCO says the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Gienau was booked into the Buchanan County Jail on a charge of attempted murder, a Class B felony. He is being held on $50,000 cash-only bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing November 4th in Buchanan County District Court.
This incident remains under investigation.
The Rowley Fire Department, Quasqueton Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
