New Hampton Police K9 On Duty, Graduates Wednesday (10.29)

The new K9 unit for the New Hampton Police Department (NHPD) is on duty and on track to graduate.

Police Chief Conrad Rosendahl told the City Council last week that K9, Ozcar, is on duty and serving the residents of New Hampton after receiving his Certificate of Certification.  He said Ozcar will graduate on Wednesday (10.29) as a “dual purpose” K9.

It will be the second “graduation” for the NHPD in recent months. Officer Jace Hall graduated from the Police Academy in August and is now a fully certified officer.

Meanwhile, Rosendahl says recruitment efforts to fill the open officer position on staff continue, with the hopes they’ll also find a permanent handler for Ozcar.
