Certified, Graduated: New Hampton Police K9 on Duty

He was certified almost three weeks ago and officially graduated last week (10.29.25).

New Hampton Police Chief Conrad Rosendahl says their new K9 officer, Ozkar, has successfully completed over 510 hours of training during their recent 12-week course.

Rosendahl notes that Ozkar’s training went beyond narcotics detention and the apprehension of law breakers.

Rosendahl also went through all the training with Ozkar.

While Ozkar is now on duty, Rosendahl says it’s a balancing act to introduce the K9 officer to the New Hampton community.

Rosendahl says Ozkar will likely accompany him to D.A.R.E classes at school and he’s one more way the NHPD continues striving to make the  New Hampton community the safest possible.
