Lance Schreier and Ashley Koebrick Schmidt from the Charles City Arts Center lay out a full season of arts events—from the expanded Holiday Art Market launching on Pink Friday to the international flavors of Global Café on Nov. 22. They also touch on the year-end membership drive, new sustaining memberships, and the ongoing slate of November exhibits and classes. A busy stretch for anyone who wants to support local artists and stay connected to the community’s creative side.

For details on the Holiday Art Market, Global Café tickets, November exhibits, kids’ and adult classes, and how to join the fall membership drive, visit the Charles City Arts Center website at charlescityarts.org and follow the Charles City Arts Center Facebook page for updates, menus, and event announcements.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
