Sumner-Fredericksburg School District Seeks Charter School

A new charter school could be coming to northeast Iowa.
Sumner-Fredericksburg Superintendent Ryan Cunningham says the community can learn more about Future Frontiers charter school during a Public Forum Wednesday (12.03) night from 6 to 7 pm in the Middle School choir room.
Cunningham says charter school students would, among other aspects, would gain valuable work-based, career-embedded experience.
Cunningham says charter students, who can also earn college credit, must still meet all of the graduation requirements of regular high school students.
He also notes that charter school students don’t have to be local.
For those who can’t attend the public forum in person, joining via Google Meet is also an option, with a link available at Sumner-Fredericksburg Community School District on Facebook or with this story on our station website.
Cunningham says the school district could learn later this month if their application advances them to make their pitch to State Board of Education in February.
