North Iowa Woman Charges with Trashing Convenience Store Naked and Bloody

A north Iowa woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly walked into a convenience store naked and covered in blood.
According to criminal complaints filed by Mason City Police (MCPD), 32-year-old Cheri Decker of Mason City entered the Casey’s at 813 North Federal Avenue at about 9:30 am on December 19th. She was nude, covered in blood and began knocking over a shelving unit before breaking glass bottles from the shelves and throwing items at employees.
Along with breaking items, Decker allegedly covered multiple consumable items and product packages with blood that had to be destroyed. Due to the amount of blood in the store, on products and food machines, the business was forced to close and had to pay for a professional cleaning crew. Damages and cleaning costs were estimated between $1500.00 and $10,000.
Decker is also accused of slapping a customer and a store employee with her bloody hands.
About four hours later, MCPD was dispatched to the ER at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, where Decker was accused of spitting on a security guard and acting in an assaulting manner while hospital staff attempted to get her under control.
Warrants for her arrest were issued following the incidents and Decker was taken into custody early Tuesday (01.06) morning by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office. Charges against Decker include first-degree criminal mischief, a Class C felony; assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, a serious misdemeanor; plus simple assault and disorderly conduct.
She was being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing January 16th in Cerro Gordo County District Court.
