The Charles City Public Library has a busy few weeks ahead, and Library Director Annette Dean stopped by to preview what’s coming up for kids, teens, and adults. From hands-on youth programs and teen crochet to multiple book clubs, technology help, and a new “Beat the Blues” wellness series, the library is offering plenty of opportunities to stay engaged during the heart of winter. Annette also highlighted several Cabin Fever events, including trivia and mocktails, a Mahjong learning session, and themed programming designed to help residents stay active and connected.

For full event calendars, program details, and sign-ups, visit the Charles City Public Library website at charles-city.lib.ia.us or follow them on Facebook for the latest updates.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
