Charles City’s popular Trivia Night is back for its eighth year. Amanda Rahmiller and Floyd County Museum Director Mckenna Lloyd joined us on Community Conversations to talk about how the event first began in 2017 as an eighth-grade service project to restore the Riverside Cemetery Chapel, and how it has grown into one of the community’s favorite winter fundraisers. They explain why the Floyd County Museum is this year’s beneficiary, how proceeds will help support early planning work for a tractor storage building project, and what teams can expect — from themed trivia rounds and music challenges to the silent auction, mulligans, and the traveling trophy.

Trivia Night takes place Saturday, February 28, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. and trivia beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Comet Gym. To reserve a table or donate a silent auction item, contact 641-425-5132 or email [email protected]. Community Conversations is brought to you by Floyd County Medical Center.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
