Charles City High School bowlers Sullivan Gerleman, Joey Robel, Noah White, Ellie Bohlen, Kinleigh Bahe and Alexis Putney, along with Coach Casey Brandau, joined KCHA for Community Conversations to recap a strong  season and preview upcoming state qualifying competition. The boys discussed their consistent 200+ team averages and multiple 3,200 team scores this year, while the girls highlighted a second-place conference finish and continued growth with a young varsity lineup. The teams also talked about adapting to different lane conditions and staying mentally focused heading into postseason play. The girls compete at their State Qualifying Meet in Carroll on Monday, with the boys’ postseason events to follow later in February.

For meet updates, postseason details and team highlights, follow the Charles City Comet Bowling Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CharlesCityCometBowling/ and stay tuned to KCHA and KCHAnews.com for continued coverage.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
